Sourced direct from Kerala Forest Department auctions. Milled to your specification. Delivered with the documentation UKTR actually expects.
Since the 2021 Myanmar sanctions, the UK teak market has been running on borrowed time. The material that defined marine, conservation, and high-end architectural teak for two centuries — old-growth Tectona grandis from long-rotation forests — no longer arrives.
Reclaimed Burma trades above at extreme premium, and every sale shrinks the pool. Plantation teak from Indonesia and Latin America is grown on 20–25 year cycles — softer, less oily, less stable, and structurally not the same material as the timber it's meant to replace.
There is one remaining source of legal, documented, old-growth Tectona grandis in trade with the UK. It is managed by the oldest forestry institution in the world. It is harvested from compartments that have been mapped and rotated on 50–60+ year cycles continuously since 1822. It is auctioned through a government system that produces a paper trail any UKTR inspector can follow back to the stump.
Grainarch was built to import it.
Begin Your Next ProjectRelationships held at origin — Kerala Forest Department auctions, not intermediaries. Every lot carries a compartment ID and a government-issued auction record.
Sixteen documents per consignment, every time. No undocumented material enters our supply chain. The UKTR-grade evidence pack ships with the timber.
We supply professionals, not the public. Architects, joiners, marine yards, and furniture makers who understand the material and need a supplier who does too.
Because the material demands it.
Dense, oil-rich old-growth teak from Kerala Forest Department compartments on 50–60+ year rotations. The same material properties as Burma — legally supplied.

Grainarch sells to people who fabricate, specify, or finish timber for a living. Four disciplines, one supply chain, one standard of documentation.
Kerala teak with the oil content, dimensional stability, and documentation that marine specifications demand. Grade FEQ, kiln-dried, PAR available, UKTR compliance pack with every consignment.
Sound, consistent, fully seasoned stock milled to your cut list before it leaves Kerala. No waste, no standardised widths, no re-drying on arrival.
Sample boards, technical data sheets, tier-selection guidance, and UKTR-ready documentation that makes project sign-off something your compliance officer stops worrying about.
Hand-selected character-tier teak and CITES-documented Indian rosewood for statement pieces, hotel commissions, and work where the timber is the subject.
Every Grainarch consignment passes through five stages before it leaves Kerala. Each stage is recorded, each stage is auditable, and each stage produces paperwork that forms part of your UKTR file.
