Cuts

We source, mill, and deliver custom Kerala teak for the makers and designers doing work worth telling the world about. Studio Cuts is not a product line. It is the way we work with people whose projects will end up in magazines, exhibitions, and client portfolios — and who deserve a supplier who matches that ambition.

The Program

What is
Studio Cuts?

Studio Cuts is our partnership program for makers, designers, and craftspeople creating work that is meant to be seen. A 25-chair limited run. A bespoke installation for a gallery. A prototype for a new product line. A headline commission for a restaurant opening.

Most custom timber programs exist for high-volume contractors. Studio Cuts exists for the opposite end of the market: the projects that are small in volume but large in consequence. The projects where the timber is the subject of the work, and where getting the material right is the difference between a good piece and the piece that gets published.

We hand-select the timber, mill it to your specification, deliver it documented and ready to fabricate. You make the work. We help you tell the world what it was made from.

"Quality is decided at source, protected in processing, and proven in documentation."

Ideal Project Scope

1–15 CBM (cubic metres) per order

Process

How It Works

Five stages from brief to delivery. Every decision made with you, every piece of paper held on file.

01

Brief

Share your project. A cutting list, a sketch, a reference image, a single paragraph describing what you're making. There is no correct brief format. Start where it makes sense and we will ask the questions that need asking.

02

Curation

We hand-select and mill timber to your specification. You approve grain character and colour before fabrication begins. This is not a photograph-and-hope process. You see the actual material you're getting.

03

Preparation

Kiln-dried to exact moisture content, precision-milled to your dimensions, packaged in branded wrapping. Everything arrives ready to fabricate the moment it reaches your workshop.

04

Delivery

White-glove delivery. Full documentation: UKTR record, CITES permits where applicable, ISPM-15, KFD chain of custody. UK-based aftercare from delivery onwards.

05

Story

You make something beautiful. We help tell the world it was made with Grainarch teak. Your credit is our credit. The partnership does not end at delivery — that is the entire point of Studio Cuts.

Why Studio Cuts™

Built for the Way Makers Work

Scale

Maker-Scale Volumes

One prototype. One bespoke panel. One run of 25. Studio Cuts works at the scale of work that earns publication, not contractor bulk.

Preparation

Specification-Ready

Custom milled to your exact dimensions. No standardised widths, no waste, no re-drying in your workshop. Arrives ready to use.

Documentation

Full Provenance

Every consignment ships with the full sixteen-document compliance pack. The paperwork arrives with the timber.

Selection

Curated Grain

Hand-inspected for grain and figure before milling. You approve the material before we cut it. That ownership matters for statement work.

Relationship

Partnership, Not Order

We invest in the relationship, not just the sale. Studio Cuts is a long relationship in small consignments.

Lead Time

4–8 Week Lead Time

Standard brief-to-UK lead time. Exact timelines confirmed at brief stage, before you commit to anything.

Send Your Brief

Start with a conversation. We'll take it from there.

Tell us your project. A cutting list, a sketch, a reference image, or a sentence describing what you are making. There is no wrong way to start.

We confirm lead time, volume, grain availability, and documentation before you commit to anything.

We respond to all Studio Cuts briefs within 1 business day.
